Flora mid-1960s painting
2009 limited edition prints available

Jim Flora Art has released a limited-edition, archival-quality fine art print of a Flora painting entitled The Big Bank Robbery. Although the work is undated, Flora archivists Barbara Economon and Irwin Chusid have determined that the figures and colors reflect Flora's mid-1960s technique. The previously uncirculated work was reproduced in The Curiously Sinister Art of Jim Flora (p. 62). Only thirty (30) prints of The Big Bank Robbery were produced for this edition. Each print is numbered in the lower right corner beneath the image, hand-titled in the lower left, and authenticated on the reverse with the stamped seal of Jim Flora Art LLC (a Flora family enterprise). We have sold numbers 16/30 thru 30/30, and are now offering numbers 11/30 thru 15/30 for $225 each. Prices will increase for subsequent prints as the edition depletes. Produced by Flora archivist Barbara Economon with state-of-the-art digital technology, the prints have been meticulously crafted and painstakingly replicated from a high-resolution scan of the original painting, a tempera on board. All elements of the artist's work have been retained, including faint pencil outlines. Minor aging artifacts which do not detract from the overall impression were retained for the edition. (Note: what appear to be smudges in the background were painted by the artist.) The image area is 11" high x 17" wide and centered on a sheet 13" high x 19" wide. The unframed prints are on heavyweight (310g) mould-made William Turner stock, a natural white, 100% rag paper with a fine toothy surface manufactured by Hahnemühle, who are renowned for premium-grade archival papers. The edition was produced on an Epson 3800Pro large format printer using Epson UltraChrome K3 Pigment Ink Technology, resulting in brilliant, velvety color and offering excellent longevity and durability. The print will ship flat, securely packaged and guaranteed against bending or dents. Print includes a detailed, custom-printed one-sheet with instructions for the proper care of this fine art reproduction. Due to the fine art print's higher-resolution process, as well as superior paper, inks, and quality control, the colors in the print appear brighter, crisper, and more vibrant than those in the book. Online color appearance may vary slightly depending on your monitor settings. ![]() |
