Flora 1970 painting
2008 limited edition prints available

Jim Flora Art LLC has released a limited-edition, archival-quality fine art print of an uncirculated 1970 Jim Flora tempera painting entitled Chance Encounter. Produced by Flora archivist Barbara Economon, the prints have been meticulously crafted and painstakingly replicated from the original painting using state-of-the-art digital technology. Only twenty (20) prints of Chance Encounter were produced for this edition. Each print is numbered in the lower right corner and titled in the lower left corner beneath the image and authenticated on the reverse with the stamped seal of Jim Flora Art LLC (a Flora family enterprise). Print numbers 2/20 thru 20/20 have been sold, and we are now offering the FINAL PRINT, number 1/20, for $500. After this print is sold, Chance Encounter will no longer be available as a fine art edition in wall display-sized format. It may only be offered in reduced form in print items such as cards, calendars or folios, or commissioned as exclusive, premium-priced, custom-formatted single prints produced privately at our discretion. A high-resolution scan was made of the original art, a tempera painting on paper. All aspects of the original artwork (with Flora's signature in the lower right) have been retained, including minor aging artifacts which in no way detract from the overall impression. The image area is 10" high x 12-3/4" wide — slightly larger than the original work — on a sheet 13" high x 19" wide. The unframed prints are on heavyweight (310g) mould-made William Turner stock, a natural white, 100% rag paper with a fine toothy surface manufactured by Hahnemühle, who are renowned for premium-grade archival papers. The edition was produced on an Epson 3800Pro large format printer using Epson UltraChrome K3 Pigment Ink Technology, resulting in brilliant, velvety color and offering excellent longevity and durability. The print will ship flat, securely packaged and guaranteed against bending or dents. Print includes a detailed, custom-printed one-sheet with instructions for the proper care of this fine art reproduction. Chance Encounter, uncirculated and unpublished during the artist's lifetime, was reproduced in The Sweetly Diabolic Art of Jim Flora (p. 40). Due to the fine art print's higher-resolution process, as well as superior paper, inks, and quality control, the colors in the print appear brighter, crisper, and more vibrant than the online image. Online color appearance may vary slightly depending on your monitor settings. |
